Leaving Zambia, we headed off to Malawi, known as the "warm heart of Africa" due to the friendliness of its people. With almost a quarter of the country being covered by Lake Malawi, the country's population is largely clustered around the shores of the lake.

Haiti (Haitian Creole: Ayiti, French: Haïti) is a Caribbean country that occupies the western one-third of the island of Hispaniola. The eastern two-thirds of Hispaniola is occupied by the Dominican Republic. The North Atlantic Ocean lies to the north, while the Caribbean Sea lies to the south.

Haiti is a country with a troubled past, however it's future seems much more positive, and full of potential. Decades of poverty, environmental degradation, violence, instability and dictatorship have left it as the poorest nation in the western hemisphere.

This is the Karst Country near Camuy Caves and Areceibo. The sediment loaded rivers and Limestone cliffs were the most visually impressive part of Puerto Rico!

We are in the El Yunque Rain Forest Reserve.
The El Yunque Rain Forest is a cool, mountainous, subtropical rainforest in Puerto Rico. The Eastern side of the Luquillo Mountains, which has the El Yunque rainforest at the top elevations, gets most of the rain. The winds must rise when they meet the mountains. This rising of the air mass causes the air to cool and release rain on the windward side. The daytime heating of mountain surfaces also produces updrafts in the vicinity of the peaks.
